About this course

Learners develop foundational English for everyday life and work. Activities cover reading signs, instructions and basic forms, writing letters, words and short sentences, and speaking about personal information, routines and straightforward work-related subjects. Tutor-supported practice includes responding to simple instructions, using numbers and postcodes, and planning journeys to work or appointments with digital tools such as Google Maps. The course is designed for learners new to English and allows participants to work at their own pace.
