Essential Digital Skills - Entry Level (Pearson)

About this course

This course develops foundational skills for using mobile phones, apps and other digital services. Topics include operating devices, finding and managing information, creating documents and digital media, processing numerical data, communicating online, using online services and shopping securely. Learners also examine privacy, data protection, responsible online behaviour and digital wellbeing. The course includes tutor feedback and advice, followed by an exam. Completing the qualification leads to a nationally recognised qualification, provided both required course components are attended.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners with very little experience of digital skills. Its Entry level label indicates a starting point for foundational learning, rather than confirming a specific previous experience requirement. An assessment and overview session is part of the enrolment process.

• Completion of the qualification requires attendance at both the Introduction to Essential Digital Skills and Entry Level courses.
• Learners can progress to the Level 1 Essential Digital Skills Qualification.

Before you go

• Learners should attend an Exploring Digital Skills session for an assessment and overview of the qualifications, or arrange a one-to-one assessment if they cannot attend that session.
• An exam takes place at the end of the course.
