About this course

The course combines practical workshops, lectures, audio-visual presentations and discussions of listening assignments. Participants develop individual projects focused on experimental live performance, considering both the technical use of software and hardware and the creative reasons for choosing particular approaches. The course also examines how experimental music and sound art are presented publicly, including the structure of the live performance industry and ways to approach booking gigs. Learners use a free software package and other audio-processing tools to develop performance ideas.

  • Evaluate how software and hardware can be used to realise and present artistic ideas
