Explore: painting and drawing – extend and experiment

About this course

Participants develop painting and drawing ideas over several sessions, working with a theme, subject or question rather than completing only short exercises. Sketchbooks are used to test possibilities, revisit decisions and explore unfamiliar approaches. The course includes experimentation with scale, colour, process, line, tone, composition and mark making. Learners reflect on their work, respond to feedback and discuss examples by artists from different periods to inform their visual thinking.
