About this course

Participants will extend their screen-printing practice across paper and fabric, using Drawing Fluid, Wax Stencil Card, Oil Pastel and Photo Stencil methods. The course examines how layered images are constructed through colour, registration and changes in scale and composition, including photographic and indirect stencil processes. Learning is structured around experimentation and iteration: participants test ideas, adjust their approach and rework prints to assess the effects of small changes. Group discussion and reflection are used to consider the results and identify ways to develop the work further.

What you'll learn

  • Construct layered screen prints using registration techniques
  • Refine colour choices and alignment across multiple layers
  • Adapt stencil methods to produce different visual effects
  • Experiment with photographic and indirect stencil processes
  • Evaluate, adjust and rework prints through testing

Is this course right for you?

Listed at Beginner (A1), the course is intended for learners developing their screen-printing processes through experimentation rather than following a fixed project. Participants should expect to test ideas, make adjustments and discuss or reflect on their results during the course.

  • The course involves iterative testing and reworking of prints
  • Discussion and reflection form part of the learning process
