Exploring Colour – Intensive Workshop

About this course

The workshop combines focused theory, live demonstrations, tutor observation, discussion and sustained painting practice. Participants examine the colour wheel, primary, secondary and tertiary colours, temperature, harmony, complementary relationships and optical mixing. Exercises move through landscape, still life and portraiture, applying different approaches to drawing and colour influenced by 20th-century artists. Limited palettes and deliberate colour selection form a central theme, with each participant developing a personal synthesis piece. Group critiques and questions provide opportunities to review the work produced during the sessions.
