Exploring Sculpture: Intermediate/Advanced Monday

About this course

Participants plan and develop sculpture projects through studio-based making, supported by tutorials, critiques, group discussion and short seminars. The course considers how individual work can develop within contemporary art practice, with opportunities to discuss decisions and share approaches with the group. Topics include sculpture materials and processes such as metal, clay, wood, mould-making, stone and plaster. Attention is also given to developing projects, critical decision-making and good workshop practice, including health and safety.

The course is intended for learners at an intermediate to advanced level who want to develop their sculpture practice through individual studio work, discussion and critique. Some experience of making art is required, and participation includes discussing personal work and contributing to group activities.

• Basic materials are included; materials used beyond the allocated materials fee are charged separately.
