About this course

Participants respond to a set brief by researching fashion and developing design ideas across womenswear, menswear, gender-neutral fashion or fashion involving textiles. The course explores concept development, experimentation and ways of communicating ideas through fashion illustration and design. Teaching combines project work with independent study, including sketchbook documentation and both two-dimensional and three-dimensional experimentation. It also introduces portfolio preparation and offers guidance relevant to further study in fashion at further or higher education level.

What you'll learn

  • Develop fashion concepts from research and a set brief
  • Document design research and ideas in a sketchbook
  • Use creative fashion illustration to communicate design proposals
  • Experiment with two-dimensional and three-dimensional design approaches
  • Present fashion design ideas in a portfolio-oriented format
