About this course

The course explores fashion and beauty photography from initial concept to refined image. Participants work with lens choices, composition, colour, styling, mood boards and visual references, then apply these ideas during guided studio and on-location shoots. Demonstrations and practical exercises cover natural and studio lighting for skin and texture, posing and model direction, and basic retouching workflows. Sessions also include reflection on submitted images and discussion of industry standards and creative collaboration. A small, cohesive selection of fashion images is developed during the course.

What you'll learn

  • Use manual camera settings and lens choices appropriate to fashion and beauty photography
  • Apply natural and studio lighting techniques to skin tones, texture and form
  • Direct models and shape poses and movement for expressive images
  • Develop and communicate a fashion image concept using mood boards and visual references
  • Create a cohesive series of fashion and beauty photographs
