About this course
Participants begin with quick sketches and a small-scale full-body figure, examining pose, structure, form and negative space. They explore how different sculpture tools create marks and shape clay. The course then introduces portrait heads, including skull structure, accurate measuring, facial features, hair as form and texturing. Learners analyse and refine their work while discussing their projects and receiving individual verbal feedback. The finished sculpture is completed during the course, with guidance on colouring and waxing it after drying or firing.
