A practical beginner course developing figure and portrait drawing and painting through demonstrations, guided exercises, observation and independent work.
About this course
The course explores figure and portrait making through black-and-white and coloured wet and dry media. Learners work from live models or reference photographs, studying facial features, proportions, head rotation, perspective, tone and colour mixing. Exercises move from individual features and portrait analysis towards larger-scale studies and independent paintings.
