Figure Oil Painting Short Course

An all-levels oil painting course combining studio work with a life model, gallery study and individual feedback.
About this course
The course explores oil-painting techniques for representing the figure through a combination of short studies and a more sustained painting. Learners work from a model in the studio, making several small paintings before developing a single painting from a repeated pose. Alongside studio practice, the course considers the history of figure painting and the ways contemporary artists approach working with a life model. A gallery visit provides an opportunity to examine examples of figure painting at first hand, while individual advice is given during studio sessions.
