About this course

The course explores how individual film moments can interrupt narrative momentum, shape spectatorship and remain in personal or collective memory. It considers cinematic self-expression, visual style, film form, narrative, emotion and interpretation through selected film examples. Teaching combines tutor presentations, collective viewing of film clips, and small- and large-group discussion. Participants will also consider their own significant film moments and the meanings or emotional associations attached to them.
