About this course

The course introduces essential computer skills from the beginning. Learners practise switching on and logging into a computer, using a mouse and keyboard, navigating the screen, saving work and shutting down correctly. It also covers everyday online tasks, including using a web browser to find information and recognising potentially unsafe content. Smartphone activities include making calls, sending text messages and taking photographs. Teaching is paced slowly and includes substantial practice time.
