About this course
The course introduces core Flamenco rhythms through guided movement patterns, repetition and rhythmic accompaniment. Learners practise stamping, clapping, arm movements, footwork, turns and basic castanet technique, accompanied by a guitarist and working alongside other students. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, practical exercises, discussion and regular feedback. Learners can study in the studio or via live stream, with a video of each session supplied for home practice. The course also includes learning a short, simple Flamenco dance for performance at the end of the course, with the opportunity to perform alongside Morley Flamenco Dancers.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for beginners and learners with up to two years of previous Flamenco dance experience. It involves sustained physical activity, movement practice and some work outside class using recap resources. Exercises can be adapted to accommodate particular physical or learning needs.

Before you go
- Wear securely attached shoes with a small heel, preferably Cuban heels, and do not wear stilettos. Flamenco shoes or boots are suitable.
- Women are asked to wear a long, flared skirt; men should wear trousers that allow movement. A fitted top is also requested.
- Bring a notebook and a bottle of water.
- Recap videos and other resources are provided for practice outside class.
- Class photography or filming may be used for learning and publicity, with the option to give or decline consent.
