About this course

The course examines how flamenco dances are organised, with particular attention to the Fandango and the links between sections. Learners work on step patterns, changing rhythms and tempos, group formations and transitions, using cues from live guitar to connect movement with musical phrasing. Sessions develop longer sequences that require coordination, posture, breath control and stamina. Participants also consider how musical structure and spatial awareness affect the way a dance is performed.
