About this course
The course extends core flamenco technique through more complex step patterns, changing tempos and group formations. Learners work on footwork quality, posture, turns, skirt technique, arm movements and transitions, while developing awareness of rhythm and space. Sessions use clear structures and supported sequences, with live guitar providing a setting for exploring musical phrasing. Participants practise coordinating upper- and lower-body movements, then apply these elements in continuous sequences and a completed improver-level dance.
What you'll learn
- Perform footwork sequences with changes in speed while maintaining sound quality and posture.
- Coordinate arms, footwork and continuous movement for sustained sequences.
- Use arm, turn and skirt techniques within flowing movement.
- Match the beginnings, repetitions and endings of sequences to the musical phrasing.
- Perform a completed three- to four-minute flamenco dance at improver level.
