About this course
The course develops guitarists’ repertoire and musicianship through songs in folk, pop, blues and Latin styles. Participants work on chord construction, changes, strumming, finger-picking, scales, song structure and arrangement, with attention to listening and acoustic-guitar practice. Teaching combines tutor demonstration and instruction with warm-ups, song practice and ensemble playing. Song chord charts and guitar tablature are provided, and practice between classes is expected to keep pace with the coursework.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for improver-level guitarists continuing after at least a year of study. Participants should already have established common chord shapes, simple barre chords, basic strumming and picking in time, and an understanding of fundamental chord relationships. Learning includes playing with classmates in an ensemble.
