What Elementary (A2) French means

At A2 French, learners can handle simple routine exchanges and describe familiar aspects of everyday life.

  • Describe your routine

    D’habitude, je vais au travail en métro et je rentre vers six heures.

    I usually go to work by Tube and return at around six.

  • Make a simple plan

    Tu veux aller au cinéma samedi après-midi ?

    Would you like to go to the cinema on Saturday afternoon?

  • Talk about the recent past

    Hier, j’ai dîné avec des amis, puis nous avons fait une promenade.

    Yesterday I had dinner with friends, then we went for a walk.

About this course

The course introduces elementary French through topics including personal information, free-time activities and cultural matters. Teaching centres on spoken interaction and communication, with pair and group work, role plays and language games. Presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources support the classroom activities.
