What Pre-intermediate (A2+) French means

At A2+ French, learners can connect simple sentences, give reasons and manage a wider range of familiar situations.

  • Explain a preference

    Je préfère voyager en train parce que c’est plus confortable et que je peux lire.

    I prefer travelling by train because it is more comfortable and I can read.

  • Handle a small problem

    La chambre est très froide. Pourriez-vous vérifier le chauffage ?

    The room is very cold. Could you check the heating?

  • Describe an experience

    L’année dernière, j’ai visité Lyon et j’ai beaucoup aimé son architecture.

    Last year I visited Lyon and really liked its architecture.

About this course

This taster introduces the focus of a lower-intermediate French class, with speaking as the main emphasis. Learners discuss their reasons for studying French, reflect on previous language-learning experiences and talk about future plans for learning French. Activities include discussion with other learners, providing an opportunity to use French in a group setting.
