About this course
The course develops listening comprehension in French through close work with recorded dialogues, videos and spoken-language exercises. Learners examine main points in spoken French, with attention to sounds, pronunciation and intonation, and practise strategies for listening effectively. Topics draw on everyday situations and interactions with French speakers. Teaching combines spoken communication with pair and group work, role plays, games, presentations, handouts and audio-visual resources. The emphasis is on understanding spoken French rather than grammar or vocabulary, with homework recommended for consolidation.
