About this course
The course examines France in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s through literary extracts, songs, films, newsreels, art, fashion and design, consumer products and technological inventions. The tutor introduces each item and provides relevant vocabulary before learners analyse the material in small groups and exchange views as a class. Teaching centres on spoken interaction and communication, with pair and group activities supported by presentations, handouts and audio-visual resources. The course is intended to develop discussion in French alongside knowledge of French culture and history.
