About this course
The course examines two literary texts to introduce the historical and theoretical development of contemporary French and Francophone literature. It considers poetry, drama, fiction and essays, alongside aesthetic, political, philosophical, religious and social themes shaping literary forms from the late twentieth century onwards. Teaching centres on spoken interaction and communication. Participants translate literary articles, analyse selected texts, discuss their interpretations, and may write essays and give presentations. The taster also provides an indication of the classroom activities used on the related year-long course.
