About this course
The course develops spoken and listening French through everyday subjects including family, routines, leisure, personal interests and the local area. Learners work with language for asking questions, describing people and places, discussing transport and shopping, and using selected common irregular verbs in the present tense. French-speaking culture is introduced through Paris, Lyon and festivals. Teaching takes a gradual approach, with activities designed to practise understanding spoken French, speaking in groups and retaining vocabulary. Learning advice encourages learners to communicate more independently, while homework is recommended to consolidate classroom work.
