What Beginner (A1) French means

At A1 French, learners are beginning to use familiar words and simple sentences in predictable everyday situations.

About this course

The course develops basic spoken French for common holiday situations, including introductions, shopping, restaurants, hotels, transport, directions and visits to a chemist or doctor. It also covers numbers, prices, times and French Christmas customs and traditions. Teaching centres on communication through pair work, group work, role plays and games, supported by presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. Teaching and learning materials are also available through Google Classroom.
