French Level 16 | Evenings

About this course

Lessons are primarily conducted in French and use group work, role-plays and other interactive activities to practise spoken communication. Participants work across listening, speaking, reading and writing, with language for family relationships, life stages, daily changes, future plans and social values. The course also covers grammar including possessive pronouns, indefinite adjectives, cause-and-consequence connectors, en and y, impersonal structures and present-tense verbs ending in -uire. Pronunciation work includes vocalic linking and words containing a tréma, alongside cultural topics such as major events in 20th-century France and France’s role in the European Union.

The course is intended for pre-intermediate French learners who have already been studying the language. Lessons involve spoken communication, group work and role-plays, and are mainly conducted in French. Previous study of French Level 15 or around 180 class hours is recommended.
