About this course

This course develops French through discussion of cities, neighbourhoods, urban culture and planning. Learners examine topics including gentrification, pollution, housing, cultural landmarks and urban challenges in French-speaking cities, with reference to Paris and Montreal. Lessons prioritise spoken communication through group work and role-plays, while also covering the passive voice, optional liaisons, adjective placement, nominalisation and vocabulary for urban life. The teacher conducts lessons in French, providing listening and comprehension practice alongside systematic language work.
