About this course
The course develops communication in French through discussion of social issues, including politics, the environment, culture and tradition, alongside everyday subjects such as work, free time and holidays. Learners practise expressing opinions, constructing arguments and using language for different purposes. Teaching combines group activities and role-plays with focused work on formal, informal and neutral questions, connectors and expressions of purpose. The teacher uses French throughout the lessons, giving learners sustained practice in comprehension and listening as well as spoken communication.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for upper-intermediate learners developing beyond foundational French. Previous study is required: learners should have completed French Level 20 or an equivalent course of at least 240 class hours. Participation includes regular spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with French used throughout the lessons.
