About this course
This course develops French through discussion of news, media, art, cultural access and cultural events. Lessons combine spoken communication with structured work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and listening, while the teacher speaks French throughout. Activities include finding information, presenting problems and solutions, expressing opinions, and communicating cause, purpose, consequence and opposition. Grammar topics include indirect object pronouns, the gerundive, indefinite adjectives and forms of negation.

The course is intended for Upper Intermediate (B2) learners who have studied French for some time and are progressing towards a more advanced level. Participation centres on spoken communication through group work and role-play, alongside structured language study.
- Requires previous study equivalent to French Level 21 or at least 252 class hours
- Learners should have a good knowledge of the indicative tenses, present conditional and present subjunctive
- The teacher speaks French throughout the lessons
