About this course

Lessons are primarily conducted in French and develop listening, speaking, reading and writing through group work, role-play and communication focused on everyday situations. Course content covers personal topics such as hobbies, family and news, alongside grammar including possessive adjectives, adjective agreement, question formation, pronouns, the recent past and near future. Learners also explore family life in France and French literature through Les Cahiers d’Esther. Lesson summaries, notes, study tips and additional resources support work beyond class.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners at Elementary (A2) level who have already studied some French. The interactive format involves spoken communication, group work and role-play, with lessons mainly conducted in French. Progression is based on participation and self-study rather than formal tests.

• Prior French study is recommended, such as completing Level 3 or around 36 class hours
• Learners should be prepared to participate in group activities and role-plays
• The course includes self-study between classes
