French Wine Scholar: Bordeaux and South-West France Evening

About this course

This session examines the history, geography and cultural influences behind winemaking in Bordeaux and South-West France. It covers regional diversity through examples from Médoc, Saint-Émilion, Graves, Entre-Deux-Mers, Madiran, Cahors and Gaillac. Teaching is centred on contextual discussion alongside a tasting of wines representing the two areas. Red and white examples are used to consider differences in terroir, regional traditions and winemaking styles. The session also provides an introduction to the wider French Wine Scholar curriculum.
