French Wine Scholar: Bourgogne Evening

About this course

The session examines how Bourgogne’s history, geography and cultural influences have shaped its vineyards, appellations and wine styles. It forms one evening of the French Wine Scholar curriculum and introduces the subject matter covered in the wider course. A guided tasting compares wines from across the region, including Chablis Chardonnay, Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir and examples from smaller Bourgogne appellations. Discussion connects each wine with its terroir, production traditions and regional character.

The course is listed for all levels and is intended for learners interested in Bourgogne and those considering further Wine Scholar Guild study. It is not suitable for people currently enrolled on the French Wine Scholar course. Former students may attend to revisit this region’s tasting session.
