About this course

This independent working session takes place in a fully equipped intaglio print room. Participants can work with etching, collograph and monoprint processes without formal tutoring during the session. The format is intended for Drawing Year students, alumni and experienced printmakers who meet the stated access conditions.

Is this course right for you?

The session is intended for Drawing Year students, alumni and experienced printmaking students. Experienced printmakers should have completed a printmaking course with the provider or have a tutor’s recommendation. As an untutored session, it is aimed at learners who can work independently.

Before you go

• Wear an apron or old clothes.
• Bring ideas and source material, basic drawing materials, an eraser and a nylon sable-type brush sized 2 to 6.
• Optional tools include a dry point or etching needle, burnisher, magnifying glass and scraper. Existing etching tools should be marked for identification.
• An intaglio print room is provided. Plates and paper can be bought in the print room; card payments are accepted.
• Basic drawing materials, an eraser and a nylon sable-type brush are required.
