Functional Skills Maths Entry Level

About this course

The course develops understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rounding and order of operations, alongside work with decimals, negative numbers and fractions. Learners also practise drawing and extracting information from tables and graphs. Progress is monitored through classroom tasks, tutor-marked homework and written and verbal feedback. An Individual Learning Plan records development, while exams at the end assess readiness for the Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills Maths qualification at entry level.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners with a low level of mathematical knowledge who want to work towards an entry-level maths qualification and potentially progress to a higher Functional Skills level. An interview and initial assessment will identify learning level and individual needs. Regular attendance, weekly homework and independent study are expected.
