Fundamentals of Watercolour

About this course

Participants use watercolour and ink to investigate shape, form, volume and structure, including the spatial context around their subjects. Teaching follows a flexible progression, beginning with tonal studies using a limited palette and moving towards observed or perceptual colour as experience develops. Guidance covers colour mixing, paint handling and formal drawing considerations, with the expressive qualities and fluid behaviour of watercolour forming a central part of the work.
