About this course

The course develops Portuguese through topics including work, family, appearance, feelings, travel and food culture. Lessons combine coursebook study with role-plays, speaking games, cultural activities and short presentations, giving learners regular opportunities to communicate in Portuguese. Grammar and vocabulary work covers possessive adjectives, demonstrative pronouns, comparative structures, the verbs ser, estar, ler and ver, and the preposition por. The teacher speaks Portuguese throughout, using visual support and careful language to aid understanding. Activities include describing workplaces and families, handling an immigration encounter, discussing feelings and comparing food traditions.
