Elementary / A2

Face-to-face Elementary Spanish course using guided practice and communicative activities to develop everyday speaking and listening.

What Elementary (A2) Spanish means

At A2 Spanish, learners can handle simple routine exchanges and describe familiar aspects of everyday life.

  • Describe your routine

Normalmente voy al trabajo en autobús y vuelvo a casa a las seis.

I normally go to work by bus and return home at six.

  • Make a simple plan

¿Quieres ir al cine el sábado por la tarde?

Would you like to go to the cinema on Saturday afternoon?

  • Talk about the recent past

Ayer cené con unos amigos y después dimos un paseo.

Yesterday I had dinner with friends and then we went for a walk.

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.

About this course

The course develops Spanish for discussing daily routines, habits, frequency and time. Learners practise reflexive verbs, irregular present-tense verbs, time expressions, sequencing language and ways to agree or disagree.

What you'll learn

  • Describe daily routines and present habits in Spanish
  • Express how often activities take place
  • Ask for and state the time
  • Use reflexive verbs in the present tense
  • Sequence events with primero, después and luego
  • Express agreement and disagreement

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for adults who have completed Spanish Level 3 or an equivalent course. The Elementary level indicates an early-stage course, while the stated entry point means learners are expected to be continuing from previous study rather than starting Spanish from scratch. Lessons involve regular speaking and pair or group communication in Spanish.

  • Designed for learners who want more time to consolidate material than a faster-paced format provides
  • Suitable for learners comfortable participating in role-plays, interviews, speaking games and short presentations
  • The course is aimed at adults aged 18 and over

Before you go

  • The course uses Aula Internacional Plus 1, Libro del alumno A1. Learners who completed a previous level with the provider may already have the book; otherwise, it must be purchased.
