About this course
This German course develops spoken communication and grammar through topics including political systems, generational change, migration, health and fitness, stress, and holidays. Participants practise discussing issues, giving advice, expressing and justifying opinions, and describing situations using relevant German structures. Teaching includes pair and group work, role plays, games, presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. The course is based on chapters 7 and 8 of Willkommen 2 and includes work with the passive, conjunctions, ordinal numbers and Konjunktiv II forms.
What you'll learn
- Discuss political systems and parties using the passive.
- Compare changes in life between generations using the conjunctions als and wenn.
- Understand and discuss interviews about migration issues, including the use of ordinal numbers.
- Discuss health, fitness and stress while giving advice and expressing opinions with Konjunktiv II forms.
- Describe different types of holidays using conditional sentences and justify opinions.
Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for intermediate German learners at approximately B1.2 level. Participants should have studied German for about three years recently or completed German 3 lower: module 1. Spoken interaction includes pair work, group work and role plays. Basic grammar terminology is essential, with some intermediate terminology helpful.
