German beginners intensive: module 1 + 2

About this course

The course introduces German for everyday situations, including meeting people, exchanging personal details, discussing family and leisure, asking for directions, shopping for food, ordering in a café and booking a hotel room. It also covers foundational language structures such as personal pronouns, possessive adjectives, genders and articles, plurals, the accusative, verb endings, irregular verbs and separable verbs. Teaching centres on spoken communication, with pair work, group activities, role plays and games supported by presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources.

Is this course right for you?

This Stage 1 course is intended for complete beginners, as no previous knowledge of German is required. Participation involves spoken interaction, pair and group work, role plays and games. Homework is highly recommended, so learners should be prepared to study outside class as part of the intensive format.
