What Upper Intermediate (B2) German means

At B2 German, learners can communicate fluently on concrete and abstract topics, develop arguments and respond in detail.

  • Support a viewpoint

About this course

The course develops spoken German through lessons taught primarily in German, with group work, role-plays and practical communication tasks. Participants work on conversational fluency while refining grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading and writing for everyday situations. Additional focus is given to pronunciation, including recognising and reproducing specific sounds, speech pace, intonation and linking words in more complex sentences. Cultural awareness is also explored.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for learners at Upper Intermediate level (B2) who have already studied German to a fairly high level. Previous study equivalent to German Level 18 or at least 216 class hours is recommended. Participation includes spoken communication, group work and role-plays.
