About this course

The course introduces German through primarily German-language lessons with group work, role-plays and other interactive activities. Participants practise spoken communication alongside listening, reading and writing, while developing foundational grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Topics include introductions, personal information, nationalities, numbers, hobbies, plans, professions and working hours. The course also covers formal and informal address, essential verb forms, pronouns, articles and plurals, with cultural information about German-speaking countries.

• Ask and answer basic questions and exchange personal details
• Discuss nationalities, countries, languages, hobbies and free-time plans
• Use numbers in counting and everyday contexts
• Complete simple forms and spell words, including contact details

This course is designed for complete beginners who have never studied German. Lessons involve spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with learners also practising reading and writing. Those with some basic German knowledge may need a more suitable level.
