What Pre-intermediate (A2+) German means

At A2+ German, learners can connect simple sentences, give reasons and manage a wider range of familiar situations.

  • Explain a preference

Ich fahre lieber mit dem Zug, weil es bequemer ist und ich lesen kann.

I prefer travelling by train because it is more comfortable and I can read.

  • Handle a small problem

Das Zimmer ist sehr kalt. Könnten Sie bitte die Heizung überprüfen?

The room is very cold. Could you check the heating?

  • Describe an experience

Letztes Jahr habe ich Hamburg besucht, und die Architektur hat mir sehr gefallen.

Last year I visited Hamburg and really liked the architecture.

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.

About this course

This course develops German communication through situations including making arrangements, giving directions, apologising, complaining, discussing pets and presenting cities or travel destinations.
