About this course

The course develops German communication for situations including making complaints, discussing preferences, planning travel and understanding holiday information and announcements. Learners also practise expressing reasons, counter-reasons and consequences, alongside grammar such as the genitive, subordinate clauses, infinitives with “zu” and the verb “lassen”. Teaching uses spoken German throughout, with interactive group activities and role-plays supported by structured work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, comprehension and listening. Cultural topics include working in the German mountains and advertising in Germany.

This course is intended for learners with substantial previous German study. The provider requires completion of German Level 12 or at least 144 class hours. Lessons involve spoken communication, group work and role-plays, with the teacher speaking German throughout.
