About this course
The course develops German for everyday situations, with lessons primarily conducted in German and an emphasis on spoken communication. Learners practise asking for directions, discussing places, transport, seasons, hobbies and food, and managing conversations in shops and restaurants. Teaching combines group work, role-plays and work across listening, speaking, reading and writing. Course content includes vocabulary for daily activities and grammar such as indefinite and negative articles, sentence structure, the accusative case, formal imperatives and the modal verbs mögen and möchten. Cultural topics include German dining, shopping and family life.

The course is intended for learners who have completed a beginner German course or studied German for at least 12 hours. Its Level 2 label indicates a stage beyond fundamental beginner content.
