German Level 3 | Evenings

About this course

The course develops spoken and written German through interactive lessons conducted mainly in German. Learners practise communication for everyday contexts including family, routines, hobbies, appointments, dates, invitations, and ordering food and drink. Group work and role-play are used alongside work on listening, speaking, reading and writing. Language work includes time prepositions, possessive articles, modal verbs, separable verbs, accusative pronouns, the preposition “für”, and the past tense of “haben” and “sein”. The course also introduces cultural information about events in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

• Write and understand invitations
• Order and pay for food and drinks
• Use specified German grammar, including separable verbs, modal verbs and accusative forms

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have completed German Level 2 or studied German for at least 24 hours. Participation includes spoken communication, group work and role-play, with lessons conducted primarily in German. Learners unsure of their level are advised to take a placement test or contact the language department.
