About this course

The course examines Germany’s principal wine regions, including the Mosel, Rheingau, Baden and Pfalz, alongside key varieties such as Riesling and Spätburgunder. Teaching covers classification systems, labelling terms, quality hierarchies, climate, soils, vineyard practices, winemaking techniques and stylistic variation. Classroom instruction is combined with guided tastings of German wines and regional food pairings. Participants also study independently using the course materials and online modules. The programme concludes with a 100-question multiple-choice examination. Learners who achieve the required 75% mark receive the German Wine Scholar digital certificate.
