About this course

Participants begin with collaborative devising, exploring aerial equipment through approaches drawn from theatre, physical theatre, dance and circus. The group work is used to test ideas and identify what is most effective for each participant. The course then shifts towards developing an individual act, with participants choosing an approach and shaping a piece that reflects their own artistic direction. The resulting work may be suitable for sharing with friends and family or for development towards professional contexts.

Is this course right for you?

This intermediate course is intended for learners who have completed or been signed off for a Level 2 or 3 aerial course. The teaching combines group devising with individual act development, so participants will contribute to collaborative exploration before focusing on their own piece.

• Previous completion or sign-off at Level 2 or 3 in aerial work is stated as suitable preparation
• Learners with relevant experience who have not trained with the provider should discuss joining with the provider

Before you go

• Wear comfortable clothing such as leggings or tracksuit bottoms with a T-shirt or vest, and clean indoor trainers.
• For aerial classes, clothing that covers the limbs, such as long sleeves and leggings, is advised.
