About this course
Participants examine the reading and writing demands of both AQA GCSE English Language papers. Lessons use exam questions and past papers to explore question structure, common challenges and ways to prepare for the wider GCSE course. Teaching is interactive and student-centred, with activities focused on applying reading and writing skills to GCSE-style tasks.

The course is intended for learners who have completed Level 2 Functional Skills or previously attempted GCSE English Language without achieving a pass. A good standard of written English is required, and the course includes a short writing test to assess suitability.
