Getting ready for Functional Skills English (level 2)

About this course

The course develops English for everyday, educational and work-related situations through varied reading, writing, speaking and listening activities. Learners examine articles, reports and instructions, identify key ideas, and compare language features. They practise planning and producing formal emails, letters, reports and other purposeful texts, while improving grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure and vocabulary. Teaching also includes formal discussions and presentations, where learners explain ideas, give reasons and respond to others. Guidance is provided as learners use digital tools to create, edit and submit work, set goals and prepare for the Functional Skills English Level 2 qualification.
