About this course

This course prepares learners for Functional Skills English Level 2 through classroom instruction and structured activities, with online materials available for study outside class. It covers reading different types of text, identifying main points and detail, and reading for varied purposes. Writing work includes planning, drafting, organising ideas and checking grammar, spelling and accuracy. Learners also practise taking part in formal and informal discussions using real-life situations. Progress is assessed through a folder of work and a Personal Learning Plan, with tutor marking. The course prepares learners to progress to the full Level 2 qualification.
